Manisha Koirala once opened up about whether real friendship is possible between two actresses during her appearance on the popular chat show. The actress pointed out that unlike male actors, actresses often struggle to form genuine bonds with each other, a pattern she attributed to deep-rooted insecurity rather than competition.

Speaking on ‘Rendezvous with Simi Garewal’, Manisha Koirala had observed that male actors appeared far more comfortable in each other’s company compared to actresses. When Simi asked her, “Can there be real friendship between actresses?” Manisha replied, “I wonder why there aren’t. I mean, I don’t know how far the actors are with real friends, but I see them; they hang out together and gelling out. More comfortable they are with each other than actresses are. I don’t understand this high level of insecurities or competition, as they might put it. It’s not competition; I think it’s just insecurity.”When Simi asked whether the short shelf life of an actress could be behind this insecurity, Manisha agreed, explaining that an actress has to accomplish a lot more within a limited span of time.Manisha Koirala further revealed that she personally has more male friends than female friends. Explaining her reasoning, the ‘Dil Se..’ actress said, “I’m one of the boys with them.”

Manisha made her acting debut with the Nepali film ‘Pheri Bhetaula’ in 1989, before stepping into Bollywood with ‘Saudagar’ in 1991. Her breakthrough came in 1994 with ‘1942: A Love Story’, co-starring Anil Kapoor. She went on to feature in several memorable films, including ‘Bombay’ (1995), ‘Agni Sakshi’ (1996), ‘Indian’ (1996), ‘Gupt’ (1997), ‘Mudhalvan’ (1999), and ‘Company’ (2002). Manisha was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut web series, ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’. The actress has not announced her next project as of now.
