JD Vance warns Michigan leader Abdul El-Sayed not to take the name of Usha Vance, amid a raging controversy.

Vice President JD Vance slammed Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed for commenting on Second Lady Usha Vance and said Usha is way out of El-Sayed’s league and the Michigan leader should keep Usha Vance’s name out of his mouth. El-Sayed recently suggested that Vance’s papaw (grandfather) would not have approved of Vance’s marriage to Indian-origin Usha. This was a counter-attack to Vance’s earlier comments that his papaw would not have supported El-Sayed’s position on working class.“I actually think the people of Michigan think it’s kind of weird when you talk about another guy’s wife,” Vance said as he addressed a campaign-style event in the Detroit suburbs, hosted by President Donald Trump’s MAGA Inc. “… Whatever you want to talk about, Abdul, keep my wife’s name the hell out of your mouth because she’s way out of your league.”Appearing on Fox & Friends, Usha Vance addressed El-Sayed’s jibe directly, taking a high-road approach. “I have to admit I kind of laughed,” she said. While acknowledging that she never had the chance to meet her husband’s late grandparents, she emphasized that the relatives who raised him have treated her with nothing but warmth and affection since day one,” Usha Vance said.“His mom, his aunt and uncle — they have never been anything but incredibly loving,” the Second Lady stated, adding that her husband’s aunt has become like a second mother to her. She reflected on her initial visits to Ohio, sharing that despite having no prior background in the state, the surrounding community embraced her warmly. “They are my family. They treat me like their family,” she added.El-Sayed later defended his social media post during a television appearance, arguing that he was not making a racial comment, but rather pushing back against the idea that individuals whose families have been in the country longer possess a greater claim to American identity.This was not the first time El-Sayed made personal attacks on Usha Vance. In April, El-Sayed mused about the Vance marriage during an interview on “The Allen Analysis Show” podcast. “What do you think is going through Usha’s head when he talks? She’s like, ‘Damn, I have to sleep with him,’” El-Sayed said.“I guess she’s pregnant, so something is happening,” El-Sayed continued. “Can you imagine, he’s got Brown kids, at some point he’s going to have a really awkward conversation with his kids, like, you made your career hating people who are different.”
