American CEO’s post on H-1B abuse goes viral.

An American CEO, Hany Girgis, who is known on X for his anti-H-1B social media posts, shared some screenshots that he claimed to have received from a VP at a Fortune 500 company exposing H-1B abuse. The post went viral at a time when the H-1B visa program had emerged as the most controversial issue, as the Donald Trump administration is taking several steps to end abuse in the program, but which will also make legal immigration for jobs difficult in the US.The purported screenshots exposed multi-layer abuses that start with the hiring process. When an H-1B employee is involved in the process, only certain preferred candidates are selected and Americans are rejected. Even before the interview, sometimes the interview questions are shared and some kickbacks may also be involved in the process. This means that if a certain candidate is hired, a vendor/IT staffing company may give some benefits or kickbacks.In the second stage, these preferred employees are given high-profile assignments and more visibility while American workers are given “unusually aggressive deadlines”, the screenshot claimed.Another major allegation was raised in the post, alluding to a second type of syndicate. “There are lots of Indian grocery stores and restaurants which came up in TX, especially Dallas and Austin. Manager and their subordinates are partners. All take turns so that one is at a grocery store or restaurant always. This is another source of income for them,” it added.As the post went viral, America First activists started India-bashing. Florida Republican Chandler Langevin narrowed down the allegations and said H-1B just means Indian. “Let’s stop tiptoeing through the tulips here. There wouldn’t be a problem with the H-1b program if we were bringing over Germans and Japanese. The problem is Indians. It doesn’t matter if they have an H-1b, an OPT, or a green card… Indian scamming culture and Indian nationalism is not compatible with American culture and business practices. Stop being afraid of being called names and say what the problem is. INDIANS,” Langevin wrote.Some social media users, however, questioned the veracity of the claims and asked why the VP at a Fortune 500 company could not take action if there was any abuse.
