Director Nitesh Tiwari’s epic ‘Ramayana‘ is set for a major international showcase, with the makers officially announcing that the film will be presented at San Diego Comic-Con. Just a day after reports stated that the makers have planned a grand trailer launch in Delhi on July 18, the official SDCC lineup was announced on Thursday.As per the listing, ‘Ramayana’, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash in lead roles, is all set for its showcase on July 23, 2026. Producer Namit Malhotra is expected to join the film’s leading men and director Tiwari to unveil the film’s trailer before an international audience.

Screenshots of the film’s listing on the official lineup was posted online. It read, “In an age of gods and kings, the fate of worlds hangs in the balance. Rama, a prince bound by duty, sacrifice and the greater good, must face Ravana, an immortal ruler driven by pride and vengeance, powerful enough to shatter the cosmos. Namit Malhotra, founder of Prime Focus, and global CEO of visual effects powerhouse DNEG, is joined by Ranbir Kapoor (Rama), Yash (Ravana) and director Nitesh Tiwari for an exclusive first look at the largest cinematic undertaking in Indian film history and a sweeping new retelling of one of the world’s oldest and most enduring epics.”
‘Ramayana’ panel: Date, time and venue
The presentation is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. on July 23 in Ballroom 20, the second-largest venue at San Diego Comic-Con, which reportedly has a seating capacity of approximately 4,800 attendees. The venue is second only to the convention’s iconic Hall H and is traditionally reserved for some of the event’s biggest studio presentations.As per reports, this makes ‘Ramayana’ only the second Indian film to receive a major showcase at San Diego Comic-Con after ‘Kalki 2898 AD’.The Comic-Con appearance is expected to form a key part of the film’s international marketing campaign, with the team reportedly planning a major presentation for global audiences. It is rumoured that the makers will also drop some exclusive content for those attending the event.

Before heading to the United States, however, Ranbir, Yash, director Tiwari and producer Malhotra, will officially launch the first trailer in India. The trailer will reportedly be unveiled at a grand event at Bharat Mandapam on July 18, marking the beginning of the film’s full-scale promotional campaign.‘Ramayana’ cast and release dateAccording to a report on Variety India, the New Delhi launch will offer audiences their most extensive look yet at the ambitious adaptation that sees Kapoor portraying Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha and Kunal Kapoor as Lord Indra. Yash, on the other hand, plays the role of Ravana, and Sunny Deol, plays Hanuman alongside an ensemble cast including Adinath Kothare, Lara Dutta, Sheeba Chaddha and Arun Govil.‘Ramayana: Part 1’ is scheduled to release in cinemas on Diwali 2026
