Ranveer Singh is entering an exciting phase in both his career and personal life. Fresh off the blockbuster success of the ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise, the actor is now gearing up for his next film, ‘Pralay’, while also preparing to welcome his second child with wife Deepika Padukone.Ranveer is scheduled to begin shooting for director Jai Mehta‘s ‘Pralay’ in August, as per a report by Variety India. The actor is expected to continue filming until Diwali, after which he will reportedly take a paternity break around November to spend time with his growing family. The second schedule of the film is said to resume in 2027.‘Pralay’ is a zombie thriller and marks Ranveer’s first foray into the genre. While the makers have remained tight-lipped about the plot and supporting cast, the project has already generated considerable buzz among moviegoers.Earlier, Pinkvilla had reported that a major portion of the film would be shot in Australia. “Ranveer will start shooting for the Jai Mehta directorial in the second half of 2026. The shoot is planned in Australia, and he has already kick-started prep. This is a film that requires intense physical and emotional preparation, given the scale and genre,” a source told the entertainment portal.On the personal front, Ranveer and Deepika are preparing to expand their family. The couple, who got married in 2018, became parents to daughter Dua in September 2024 and have consciously kept her away from the public eye. They announced that they were expecting their second child in April this year through a joint social media post.Deepika is currently in the third trimester of her pregnancy. Ranveer’s reported decision to step away from work for a brief period later this year is said to reflect his desire to be with his family during the arrival of their second child.
