Neal McDonough, who has been an active part of the industry for years, recently looked back at his career and some of the most memorable moments. Recalling his changing encounter with Tom Hanks, the actor ended up revealing how the ‘Cast Away’ actor helped him and the entire cast on ‘Band of Brothers’ get in line to take their work more seriously.

Neal McDonough remembers how Tom Hanks got them all to work together

Since ‘Band of Brothers’ was a military series, all cast members physically trained during a camp. While talking to Fox News Digital, McDonough looked back on filming ‘Band of Brothers’ and added that there was a situation at the place; however, Hanks ended up helping them out in diffusing it.He shared, “About five days into boot camp, there was a mutiny.” About five days into boot camp, there was a mutiny. The American guys really loved it, but there was this mutiny going on. They were like, ‘This isn’t what we signed up for.’” He then revealed that Tom Hanks arrived at the base camp right then on a helicopter and ended up inspiring many people to get back to work and finish the film.He added, “And he got us all attention, and he says, ‘Look, we all owe it to everyone in Easy Company and everyone in World War II to work our hardest because they gave their lives for our freedoms.’” The least we can do is work our tails off to tell the truth as hard as we can so we give honor to those men and women.’” He further joked about how Hanks’ words were “melodic,” and it was very hard to ignore her.“Telling you after that, we were all brainwashed. I’m not sure “brainwashed” is the right word,” he commented.

Neal McDonough feels grateful for ‘Band of Brothers’

The beloved TV show started in 2001 and was a big hit. While looking back on his memories from the show and Hanks’ words, he added that he had a profound experience during the filming. He added, “He knew it was going to be a massive hit. Stephen knew it would be a big hit. We were just lughead actors who were doing our jobs. And then when it came out, and it was the hit that it became, and it is still 25 years later, it just boggles my mind how fortunate every single one of us was to be cast in the show.
